The biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Narendra Modi, will hit the screens on April 12, a press release said today. The film stars Vivek Oberoi in the titular role.

About one and a half months after it went on floors, the release date of the biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been announced. The film, titled PM Narendra Modi, will hit the screens on April 12 this year, a press release revealed today.

The “larger-than-life” film began shooting on January 28 in Gujarat, PM Modi’s home state. After shooting in cities such Ahmedabad, Kutch and Bhuj, the makers moved to the picturesque Uttarakhand. The film’s last leg is currently being shot in Mumbai, the release said.

Talking about the film, producer Sandip Ssingh said in a statement, “This is a very special film and a story that needs to be told. I hope this story of faith inspires the audiences. We are excited and happy to release the story of 1.3 billion people.”

PM Narendra Modi is directed by Omung Kumar who has earlier helmed films Mary Kom (2014), Sarbjit (2016) and Bhoomi(2017). The film will traverse the journey of the incumbent Prime Minister from his humble beginning to his years as Chief Minister of Gujarat onto his landmark win in the 2014 election.

Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Anand Pandit and Suresh Oberoi, the film stars Vivek Oberoi in the titular character. He will be supported by actors Darshan Kumaar, Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan and Zarina Wahab,Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Anjan Shrivastav, Yatin Karyekar, Rajendra Gupta and Akshat R Saluja, among others.
